What many thought was the inevitable happened even earlier than expected on Saturday night. Deontay Wilder defended his WBC heavyweight world title against mandatory challenger Dominic Breazeale scoring a devastating knockout at just the 2:17 mark of the first round.
Breazale not known for his defensive abilities walked in with his hands down and was immediately punished as the champion landed his signature right hand directly on the chin.
Wilder is expected to go on to a super fight with either Anthony Joshua or Tyson Fury but could keep things in house at PBC with both Luis Ortiz and Adam Kownacki vying for a shot at the champ.
