It’s being reported by Dan Rafael from ESPN that heavyweight title contender Jarrell Miller has tested positive for the banned substance GW1516 by the Voluntary Anti-Doping Associating (VADA).
The substance, GW1516, was banned from use in competition in 2009 by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) is primarily used for fat loss, to increase endurance and to regulate cholesterol levels. In 2013 WADA issued and updated warning citing “clinical approval has not, and will not be given for this substance” due to associated cancer risks.
Miller, who is scheduled to challenge Anthony Joshua for the WBA, IBF, WBO & IBO titles at Madison Square Garden in New York on June 1st has not yet issued a response to the findings.
